Unidentified Reveal

Jeanette was our hostess this round and she chose this cool Halloween image from Starvingartist stamps.  It's a large sized image so I made a 5 1/2" square card.  The background paper is from Hobby Lobby, the burlap ribbon is from Target an the witch hat is from Martha Stewart.  Can't wait to see what the next round will bring.

The Lion King

Gael is our hostess this round for the Sisterhood.  She requested that we choose a Broadway musical and make our card relating to that theme.  I haven't been to see very many musicals (hubby is not a fan), but I realized that the Lion King would work.  I bought a set of Lion King stamps off ebay a few years back when I realized there was such a thing.  It's always been a favorite kid movie of mine.  It came out in the movies 2 weeks after my oldest daughter was born and was our first "date night" as new mom and dad.  (grandma gladly babysat and we didn't go for opening day).   I printed my background paper from an online image for the opening of the play in London (sure would like to go see it there).

Mystery revealed

Darlene was our hostess this round.  I used a different Happy Birthday stamp than was included so that I could make a flip card.

Thank You

I'm truly addicted to these Sizzix cardmaking dies.  It's so fun to cut everything up in the big shot and sit and glue everything together.  My papers are from a DCWV paper stack called Lemon Flower.  I tried to go on the elegant side and added a little sparkly bling.

Back to school

I made this card for my nephew Austin.  He just started kindergarten last week.  The background papers are from a pack I got at Michael's last year.  The die is from Taylored Expressions and the stamp is SU, I think the set is First Day.

Sweet 16

Our second daughter just celebrated her big milestone 16th birthday.  She's not a big cardmaker, but enjoys and appreciates the thoughtfulness of a homemade card.  She's not into the frilly "sweet 16" girly party themes so I tried to keep it more her style.  The papers are from a Spring 6x6 paper pack I picked up in AC Moore a few months back.

Here's her party invitation (my idea/card choice)
Of course, you realize after the invitations are all mailed that your picture didn't come out so great.  This is the Tim Holtz big cupcake/die set that I've been eyeing since I first saw it in Hobby Lobby.   Just before it was time to make her invitations for her party, I found this $25 set on the clearance rack for $8.99.  It was so fun to work with.  The you're invited and the sweet are from MFT stamps and the 16 is from one of their alpha/numeric dienamics.

Thinking of You

I made this for Barb's Thinking of you swap.  I had so much fun with the Sizzix step up card framelit.  These card framelits are my newest addiction.  I have so many..............

Nautical

I made this card for the sisterhood.  Our hostess this round is Kelly.  I saw some cards with the wood background and really liked it.  Was just about to ask my neighbor if she had the stamp when I decided to look through my collection to see if I had something I could use.  To my surprise, I own the exact stamp.  I tried to go for the porthole look.

Game On

I joined Nichole's birthday swap on scs.  I had a lot of fun putting the controller together.  The controller die is from My Favorite Things and the stamps are from Papertrey.

Happy Heart Day

My oldest daughter (20) is less than 3 months away from getting her bachelor's degree in Radiology technology (basically, she's the one to take any standard x-ray one might need).  She's in Boston buried in snow with more on the way.  I wanted her to know we were thinking about her so I made her this card.  The cut outs are from a cricut Dr. Checkup cartridge and the Happy day is a $1 stamp.  I punched a paper heart and stuck it over the stamped heart to brighten it up.

unidentified swap

Darlene supplied us with this adorable image from Penny Black.  So fun to work with and right up my alley.  The designer paper and the back circle are from a Pebbles paper pack.

Congratulations

This is the card I made for Barb's congratulations swap.  I'm having so much fun with the sizzix dies.  You just keep cutting through the big shot and glue your heart out.  The congratulations stamp is from a graduation set from Hanna Stamps.  The wedding stamps are from the $1 bin at Michael's many years back.  I found the wedding bands at Hobby Lobby.

Sisterhood Spring

April was our hostess this round.  The challenge was to make a card that reminds us of spring.  My first thought was flowers.  Then I came across this cute little set I bought a while ago.
